Hi I'm Carmella, the voice behind Creative Carmella
I am so happy to be here today to share about our new Christmas tradition.....
Christmas is such a special time of the year, and now that I am a mom, I find that I get more and more excited for my kids to learn about the true meaning of it.
A few weeks ago I asked my kiddos what they thought Christmas was all about....
My sweet girl, and the oldest of the bunch is Nola. She's seven and has such a sweet giving heart. Her answer to my question was, "It's about Jesus momma, Christmas is when He was born." Okay, one down...it was a very proud momma moment.
Next up was Bryce, my super helper boy, he's four. He answered my question like this, "It's all about the presents!!" uh oh.....where did we go wrong?
And then I asked our newest addition, Liam, what he thought Christmas was all about...he's 10 weeks old so his answer looked a little like this....
I decided to cut him a little slack and fill him in on the true meaning of Christmas and then he looked a little more like this....
Simply said, Christmas is a time to celebrate our Savior's birth.
So this year we, as a family, are going to start a new tradition....we will be having a birthday party for Jesus.

I know my kiddos love a birthday party, and what a fun and special way to celebrate, right?
We will have cake, crafts, and music....
I will let them be the party planners...it will be pretty fun to see what they come up with! I can't wait!
I love all of our little family traditions, but I have a feeling this is going to be my new favorite!
Amy, thanks so much for having me today!
Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteIt's such a great tradition! A friend of mine does this with her kids. When the oldest was 4, she asked him what kind of cake should they get for Jesus' birthday. His reply: "Jesus wants a Spiderman birthday cake." So that's what they had!
